DIY - Recycled light bulb hanging vases

Recycling freak that I am, I may just try to make some of these lightbulb vases. The tutorial is highlighted at Design Sprout it looks like fun, but I'm weird like that.

These are some more new items for the store that I will be listing tonight. They are oversize tote bags that are 16"l x 13"h x 5"w with a 36" long strap. They can be used as diaper bags, overnight bags, scrapbooking totes, bookbags, you name it. Both bags are padded for extra comfort, with magnetic closurers, and 9 pockets(3 on the front and back, and 3 on the interior. They are cotton, and denim weight cottons and washable.

I think I love this wild pink and black one best...but it's for the store and not me...(sigh)...anyhow, keep an eye out over the next few weeks though, I have 4 more cut out, all of equally delicious fabrics.

Come to the Cabaret....at GEVA

"put down the knitting, the book and the broom"!!!

I can not even begin to express how excited I am that Cabaret is now playing at the GEVA Theater here in Rochester. I finagled discounted tickets for an afternoon Saturday matinee and I can't wait. It's my birthday present to myself.
I'm so excited I think I'm going to watch my VHS version.
Now if only Sweet Charity would come to Rochester, I'll have lived a good life! :)
"Life is a cabaret, 'ol chum, come to the cabaret!"

I found this really great blog through Etsy and thought it was worth checking out. I'm a recycler and when I saw these cool pen caps I just couldn't help but share, so if you get a chance check out designsprout.com. I think I'm going to add it to my favorite links. Enjoy.

Ok, I think things are working out now (officially one month later, woo hoo!). I called the insurance company this morning and they are issuing a check for the difference of the additional damage to my car. I won't be out of pocket so much after all. (Phew!) I did however try to call the dealer this morning and crazy as it sounds they lost power in the wind storm yesterday, so it won't be getting worked on today. Anyways, I am hopeful that there will be no further venting on this matter here on my blog, and I can get back to the task of keeping all of my future posts on the crafty side of life.

Car "Owie" The saga continues

Ok, hopefully not too much longer now before my car will be fixed. I heard from my mechanic on Friday of last week that the actual price it was going to cost to have my car fixed was $1300.00. The insurance company only estimated it at 460.00, 200.00 of that being my deductible. Well since there was more damage than originally expected they had to go back out and appraise it again. I hear this morning now that they gave an additional estimate of $750.00. So with any luck I should know from my insurance agent this afternoon exactly how much extra I'll be getting a check for. If all goes according to plan (and please everyone, keep your fingers crossed) I should only be about $400.00 out of pocket for this stupid thing, and then I can set back to the process of sending the last stupid payment so I can own it outright. Ugh.

Just for the record.....it will be officially one month from the accident date tomorrow. It would be nice to have this finally resolved. Who needs this stress!!!

What a cute Bunny from Pink Dotties

I know these directions are a bit difficult to see, but if you have a chance you should stop over at my friend Karla's blog at pinkdotties to get better scan. It's really so adorable and I can't wait to try, oh I don't know, a dozen or so myself. It will help me take my mind off all the car craziness to have it occupied with some cute crafty goodness, and we all know how rabbits have a tendency to multiply.

Car "Owie" (i'm so tired and I need a moment to vent)

I am a bit tired today. I'm in the midst of dealing with a car "owie" for lack of a better phrase. One car payment left and bam!
Just before the Christmas holiday (December 13) mums and I were out and about finishing up some last minute shopping. We'd been absolutely everywhere around the city. Admittedly the weather was horrible and the roads weren't much better. I am a very safe driver, and go very cautiously because that's all you can do.
Well, exactly two blocks from home a driver on a side street is coming up to his stop sign to quickly, so since he can't stop he starts sliding into the intersection right at me. He didn't hit me because I managed to swerve as far out of his way as possible, (a good thing because mums would have been in the hospital for sure)but in the process my car slid across the other side of the road (thank god no on coming traffic!!!!!!) and I hit a curb really hard.
Anyways. It hit it so hard the tire rim bent, and the tie rod broke. Because of all the snow I couldn't see any damage to the tire right away, because it was basically in a snow bank at that point, so it wasn't until I tried to take it home that I realized it wasn't steering correctly. Somehow, I managed to get it back home to my driveway (god bless blinkers and slow driving) where it's been waiting for three weeks for insurance companies and appraisers to enjoy their holiday. I just got it towed to the dealer this morning to see what they could do. I only have the rental car for a few more days and I really want this all taken care of.
So to sum it all up, because of some idiot my life has been wrapped up for three weeks with trying to get this fixed, and the stupidest thing of all is even though he caused it, he never actually hit me so it all went against my insurance and not his. Bites big time. I'm getting over it though. I just really had to vent. I am hoping that it will all settle out before the weekend is over.
